CAMBRIDGE, Mass, Dec. 16, 2013 – LiveData, Inc. today announced that the Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care System in St. Louis has purchased LiveData PeriOp Manager, the company’s operational intelligence solution for the perioperative setting. LiveData and partner Document Storage Systems, Inc. (DSS) will fully integrate PeriOp Manager with the VA St. Louis Health Care System’s VistA (Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture) electronic health record (EHR), enabling patient information and case workflow to be viewed and managed by the whole perioperative team.

The integrated advanced patient safety solution will be installed in the perioperative area and all 10 operating rooms at the John Cochran Division of the VA St. Louis Health Care System, which serves veterans and their families in east central Missouri and southwestern Illinois. The VA St. Louis Health Care System –which includes both the John Cochran and Jefferson Barracks divisions -- was recently named one of the nation’s Top Performers on Key Quality Measures by The Joint Commission, the leading accreditor of health care organizations in America.

LiveData healthcare solutions combine comprehensive real-time data from hospital information systems and medical devices with surgical workflow automation. Patient information is continuously updated and displayed on large wall-mounted screens throughout the perioperative suite, providing all members of the team with clear and immediate access to critical information about the patient, procedure, and case workflow.

Over the past six months, several VA medical centers, including those in Miami, Orlando, Cleveland, and now St. Louis, have committed to – or upgraded their current installations to – LiveData PeriOp Manager underscoring the widespread adoption of technology that improves patient safety and OR efficiency.
