CEO Jeff Robbins Presentation to Address How Technology Is Redefining OR Efficiency
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Jan. 24, 2024 — LiveData, a surgical capacity optimization solution company, today announced that it will demonstrate LiveData PeriOp PlannerTM, its innovative approach to optimizing operating room (OR) utilization, at the annual OR Business Management Conference, being held Feb. 6-8, 2024, in Phoenix, Arizona. LiveData will show how its technology helps hospitals grow case volume, leading to improved financial performance for both the surgeon and the hospital.
Conference attendees will see the newest version of LiveData PeriOp Planner, which optimizes OR utilization by enabling surgeon clinic schedulers to uncover scheduling opportunities for time slots they previously didn’t know were available at the hospital. With real-time access to the surgical schedule, clinic and hospital schedulers avoid the back-and-forth negotiations that often occur. Accommodating more cases on the schedule without adding resources results in greater surgeon satisfaction and financial benefit for the hospital.
LiveData CEO Jeff Robbins will speak at the conference, providing his unique perspectives on the impact of optimized OR scheduling on hospital revenue, staffing shortages, and patient safety. “I’m looking forward to sharing our views on the complexities of OR scheduling with the ORBMC audience, emphasizing addressing the deficiencies in current methods for improving OR utilization,” said Robbins. “As partners with the healthcare community, we share hospitals’ commitment to improving growth, transparency, efficiency, and safety.”
Titled “Truth in Scheduling – Redefining Operating Room Efficiency,” Robbins’ breakfast presentation will also address the pivotal role of technology, showcasing how innovative scheduling software and real-time data capture can revolutionize scheduling practices and OR efficiency. Strategies for reshaping OR efficiency will be outlined, emphasizing streamlined processes, day-of-surgery communication, and overcoming resistance to change. The session will kick off the conference’s final day, Feb. 8, at 8:15 a.m.
PeriOp Planner grants clinic schedulers curated access to the hospital’s surgical calendar, which is not typically available to surgeon offices. From the clinic office, schedulers can confidently find and reserve open slots in real time. Hospital schedulers retain the final authority to approve case requests. Available now, PeriOp Planner shares scheduling data with both the EHR and other LiveData PeriOp Manager modules.
As a Platinum Sponsor of the OR Business Management Conference, LiveData continues to display its leadership position and commitment to supporting the health IT community. LiveData will demo PeriOp Planner at Table #35 at the Renaissance Phoenix Glendale Hotel & Spa during conference hours.
